BAYSIDE, Calif. — Artists and craftspeople across Humboldt County can begin to submit grant applications from now until Nov. 1 for the 2022 Victor Thomas Jacoby Award which includes $10,000 in funding.
Named after the visual artist from Eureka, the grants have been given out every fall since 1998, one year after Jacoby's death in 1997, and are sponsored by Humboldt Area Foundation and Wild Rivers Community Foundation.
A Humboldt Area Foundation press release said artists should submit their applications with "examples of their work and vision for innovating and pushing their art to the next level." A panel of leading arts representatives from the region will judge the submissions and four recipients will receive an award.
Applications can be found online at hafoundation.org/Grants1 by midnight on Nov. 1.
Last year's recipients included scientific illustrator and painter Sawn Gould, multimedia artist Mo Harper-Desir, and educator, photographer and experimental painter Marceau Verdiere.
