New release of Monamou Collection

I finally did the thing and made a clothing, accessories & homegoods collection inspired from my painting “Yung King” and my own lived experiences as a Queer Black woman.

My accessories have been inspired by the Black community and my new clothing inspired by Black features and how we’ve been told how undesirable and ugly, Black features are. I am hoping that these new designs will liberate my Black community to love the skin they in and rock it with pride. Some pieces have already been in circulation and the rest of the collection will slowly be leaked over the next 2 weeks.

Check out the upcoming craft markets I’m getting involved in or head to my online shop where everything is available with 3-5 day shipping included!

A Word From Mo HD:

Hey y’all heyyyyy! Happy Solstice season!

I’m still over here mourning the departure of summer but have been thoroughly enjoying the turning of the seasons, getting back into the classroom and partaking in all the amazing offerings of our vibrate community. I recently finished up Social Movement Technologies’ Graphic Design Apprenticeship 2023 and am feeling fueled from some new perspectives and hearing about so many movements from all across the country!

I also have pivoted my arts and social justice work to collaborate with Queer Humboldt and have joined their part time staff as an Arts & Resiliency lead, it’s been very rewarding and fulfilling to connect with more change makers. I am excited to see all the magic, safety and healing we will create together.

Winter is naturally a time for rest and reset so as much as I’ll be out here organizing and creating things for the community I also will be in this house sleeping, eating and playing with these kids! The turn of 2024 will be a starting point for a lot of the changes going on in my life and I’m both nervous and eager.

With that being said I will leave you some solstice magic and astrological offerings as that is always an encouragement for me and my life…

The winter solstice is a magical moment astrologically. It marks both the shortest day and the longest night of the year. It ushers in moments of excitement and restful solitude—as the holiday season begins, we have one foot in celebration mode and the other in cozy mode. And it’s a time for rebirth. As we look up into the sky, we see the lights dimming darker, and we prepare for the rebirth of the sun. This year’s winter solstice takes place at 10:27 p.m. ET on Dec. 21. But what’s so special about it? Well, it turns out quite a lot! Pluto, the planet of transformation, is finishing up a decade-and-a-half-long transit in serious Capricorn. On Jan. 20, 2024, Pluto will enter idealistic Aquarius, where it will transit for the next 20 years. Think back to when Pluto first moved into Capricorn back in 2008. What was going on in your life at that time? How has the world changed since then—and how have you changed? This winter solstice marks a final crescendo to that cycle in your life. Take care of business, and then celebrate. And while this year’s winter solstice happens on a Thursday, everyone will feel the effects in the few days following. Paying attention to winter solstice astrology will help you maximize that sweet spot, where convivial Sagittarius meets its more private relative, Capricorn. So if you feel part extrovert and part introvert, you are in sync with the stars. You can check in with your sun and rising sign to make sure you have a sense of what’s in store, and end the year on a lovely note.

Thus, I’ll leave you with the affirmation that I am whole, I am successful, I am loved I am fulfilled and I am resting.

Peace out - Mo
