Campus Dialogue on Race: Colorism Amongst BIPOC Communities

ZOOM REGISTRATION

Hands on workshop covering topics of anti-Blackness and colorism, especially as it pertains to BIPOC communities.

Colorism and anti Blackness has been plaguing communities of color for decades and continues to pin us against each other. We can see the harm colorism plays within these communities through European beauty standards, how the media portrays our races and ethnicities. Representation and Media literacy play a huge role in the way communities of color see themselves and their success rates in life often times depend on positive pictures of themselves that aren't readily available.

Information session, Break out rooms, Theater based activity and reflection.

Facilitated by Mo HD and Lexxi Reid

This event is part of the Campus/Community Dialogue on Race, an annual event at HSU that invites students, staff, faculty, administrators, and community members to present and attend programs that relate to racial justice and its intersections with all forms of oppression and resistance.
